Born March 4, 1923 in Berlin, N.H., Mr. Gendron served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. He moved to Portland, OR after the war and was a salesman and manager for several companies. He married Alicia Frances Niebergall, a native of Walla Walla whom he met while stationed at Walla Walla Air Base, in 1945. He died June 19, 2001.
The collection includes photographs World War II bombing raids carried out by Army Air Force pilots. Gendron, an Army Air Force photographer, would follow up on bombing raids, showing the results of air attacks on German targets. Photos of Walla Walla Air Base are also included.
