Description

"Kamiakin -- great chief of the Yakimas resisted bitterly the coming of U.S. troops to his valley. Oct. 1855, he met and defeated Major Haller on the upper reaches of Toppenish Creek. In his retreat, Haller buried his cannon somewhere south of Fort Simcoe where it still lies hidden."
