Description

Two broken pieces of a dish, one fits to the other, both marked with the old catalogue number 3462. Evident on the fragments are two partial pink flowers with leaves and a green and blue background. The edging is scalloped and some parts edged with gold. First fragment measures: L 5.4, W 4.7 cm at longest points; the other fragment measures: L 10, W 5.4 cm at longest points. The backs of these pieces each are marked with pairs of small perforation holes, these holes follow the broken edges of the dish. Old presentation box found, inside were two small sharp nails and 4 small connectors or clasps. Accession File states: "Mended dish from China showing method of mending. Dishes so mended do not leak."
