Description

Small shovel canoe model carved from single cedar piece. Shallow with blunt bow and stern. Hull is wide and bottom is flat. Dark stain/paint along sides and top of edges. Nail in top of stern; three small holes on each side of canoe; two of which have wood inserted in them (looks like possibly they are the ends of a cross bar). Consistent with Eells description of shovel canoe in notebooks. Post-Contact.
