Description

Traditionally and simply constructed with a wood platform for the foot mounted on two horizontal blacks to lift them off the ground, and attached to the foot by means of two padded canvas straps which hook between the front toes. Each shoe is marked with an old catalogue number 11064-86 a and b, but because they are the same pair they will remain catalogued together under 11064-86. Accession File states: "Geta, Japanese shoes, lacquered brown with black canvas straps, outside wear, raised by blocks." Early to Mid 20th Century
