Description

Square stand with openwork reserves to each side decorated en suite with further scrolling vines to the sides surrounding each opening. Stand is base for WHIT-F-66. Accession File states: "Display stand, black lacquer ground with gold design of scrolling vines; gold edging and cinnabar red top; sides open. Condition good-1 large crack under lid, with lacquer beginning to chip around crack, both on top and underneath." 19th Century.
