Description

Chinese embroidery depicting Ho Hsien-ku, the Goddess of Long Life, also known as one of the "eight immortals." Also depicted are a deer which is indicative of long life, and a citron (Buddha's hand) above her shoulder , which is a sign of happiness. The gold Chinese characters explain that this representation of Ho Hsien-ku was given to a Mrs. Hsieh on her sixtieth birthday. Graham's records do not indicate conclusive date or collection information.
