Description

Decorated to the exterior with a central circular reserve containing a river landscape featuring a traveler in a boat bordered by a vertically lined band surrounded in turn by alternating floral sprays and cross-hatched ogival reserves, the interior surfaces covered in red lacquer. Accession File states: "11064- 23 7 1/2" diameter dish, brown with gold scene of two houses, fisherman in a boat, black bottom, red inside." Meiji period, circa 1900.
