Description

Red silk hat. The top of the hat has some sort of gold ornament that is highly decorated with little men. There are two pieces of red cloth that rise and meet at the center of this ornament and are connected by another red piece of cloth. The underside of hat is trimmed with a heavy brown woven material and lined with red silk fabric. Blue silk cord sewn into inner hat that would tie around the chin. Accession File states: "Hat, Manchu, Red. Worn by G.A. or M.A. on high days, paying respect to the Emperor."
