Description

Egyptian mummy wrapping. It is a fragmented hard surface. On the surface there is a scene painted in red, yellow, navy blue, light blue and black. The scene is of 4 figures, walking through a band of color. Some cracking in painted surface. This mummy wrapping seems to be made up of several layers of tan linen and then, to create a painting surface, had been covered with some layer of plaster. Accession File states: "Mummy Wrappings, asphalt, and other objects from Egypt. Mrs. W. P. Winans June 21, 1937."
