David C. Graham Collection
Maxey Catalog Number
Modern painting, probably a copy of a Ming Dynasty painting. Long poem inscription, translated by a scholar friend of Grahams. Evergreen trees, mountains and a stream. Inscription claims it was painted in the Ming Dynasty, ad. 1387, but Graham thought it looked too new, and was probably a copy of the original, as copying ancient paintings was a common practice in China. Accession File states: "Copy of Chinese painting." Qing Dynasty 1644-1911.
