Description

Very dark grey basalt carving with five major areas. The top is a small circle sloping forward. Below that is a narrower continium of the top. Below the narrower part is the widest portion which has four smooth side forming nearly right angles and a top which slopes down from the center. The area below the widest one is nearly as wide but significantly thinner with a small depression in the front and a deeper one in the side back. The base has a thin, uneven bottom with a deep depression in the front and a curve in the back. Donor File states: "Stone, partially worked. Found on shore of Lake Wallowa, Ore. about 1923. Dec. 31, 1932." Accession File states: "Stone, partially worked. Found on shore of Lake Wallowa, Oregon about 1923 by Ceil Carpenter."
