Description

Many figures in multiple layers, submerged in water with a dark figure in foreground stabbed through, inspired by French Romantic Theodore Gericault’s “Raft of the Medusa” (1818-1819). The composition is predominantly yellow, orange, royal blue, black, and red. The title may be inspired by Dali's father's gruesome tuna fishing stories. Sight: 22" x 34". http://www.biography.com/articles/Salvador-Dal%C3%AD-40389, http://www.louvre.fr/llv/activite/detail_parcours.jsp?CURRENT_LLV_PARCOURS%3C%3Ecnt_id=10134198673226914&CONTENT%3C%3Ecnt_id=10134198673327664&CURRENT_LLV_CHEMINEMENT%3C%3Ecnt_id=10134198673327664&bmLocale=en
