Description

Japanese painting in ink and colors on paper, mounted as a hanging scroll. The painting depicts a scene of skeletons planting, harvesting, parading with a band and rifles, dancing, seated and listening to a priest, eating, making noodles. In the background an abbot is seated in a horseshoe-back chair. The piece is unsigned. Dimensions: entire scroll: 77 1/2" x 24 3/4," painted image: 53" x 19."
