Circa 1875-191, though attributed to the Kudara Period (400-663 A.D.)
Japanese or Korean bronze model of the Buddah, seated in dhyanasana and with hands in vitarka and varada mudras. It's head has curly hair and with ushnisha. Its robes extend in shallow relief folds down a tapering openwork base ending is tapering tenon. It has a blackish patina with areas of dark red. It is accompanied by a wooden base. Dimensions: 6 1/4" x 2 1/4" x 1 1/2".
