Description

The piece is a large pagoda-like bronze tower which sprays water from its sides and top. It rests in a large rectangular pool full of water. Tsutakawa made more than 60 such fountains and was inspired by Japanese pagodas and Tibetan obos, which are rock mounds made by trekkers in the Himalayas. http://www.wingluke.org/exhibitions/GTAG.htm, http://www.historylink.org/index.cfm?DisplayPage=output.cfm&File_Id=3088
