The Listeners Project: Queremos Escucharte is a place based project promoting listening as a tool for building community, empowering one another, and celebrating our lives. The project records and shares stories from communities who have been historically left out, lost, or misrepresented in narratives about Walla Walla, Washington. The project emerged through a collaborative process with Colectivo de Arte Social (Socially Engaged Art Collective), a group of creative immigrants and immigrant advocates from the Walla Walla Immigrant Rights Coalition (WWIRC), the Walla Walla Public Library and the Whitman College and Northwest Archives. This project is made possible by the Office of the Secretary of State through the Washington State Library.

The Listeners Project: Queremos Escucharte es un proyecto basado en un lugar, el cual promueve el escuchar como una herramienta para construir comunidad, empoderarnos los unos a los otros y celebrar nuestras vidas. El proyecto registra y comparte historias de las comunidades históricamente excluidas, perdidas o mal representadas en las narraciones sobre Walla Walla, Washington. El proyecto surgió a través de un proceso colaborativo entre el Colectivo de Arte Social, un grupo de inmigrantes creativos y defensores de inmigrantes de la Coalición por los Derechos de los Inmigrantes (WWIRC); la Biblioteca Pública de Walla Walla (Walla Walla Public Library) y los archivos de Whitman College y el Noroeste (Whitman College and Northwest Archives). Este proyecto ha sido posible gracias al apoyo de la Oficina de Secretaria de Estado (Office of the Secretary of State ) a través de la Biblioteca del Estado de Washington (Washington State Library).
