Maxey Catalog Number
Axe with a curved blade with a flat top and a spike at one end. The top of the handle is a 4.1 cm piece of metal. The metal portions, particularly the blade, is badly rusted. The bottom of the handle is a 32 cm piece of wood with a blunt point at the tip. This handle is unusual for the alternating dark and light brown segments along the handle. The four darker brown portions are longer and appear to have been formed by staining over the lighter wood; the wooden portion of the handle is a single piece of wood.
