Description

A small purse which appears be made of bark and has a matching long, thin container. The long, thin container is 16.5 cm long, 2.2 cm wide, 1.2 cm thick, container attached to it. The purse is 4.5 cm high, 5.5 cm long and 1.5 cm wide. It has a lid attached by a black cord which runs through both sides of lid and purse and is knotted to the long, thin container with a 1.3 diameter round bead between the containers. Possibly this artifact, Catalogue List - David C. Graham Collection states: "No Number Wooden fan case. Made of bamboo or other light wood. Two pieces connected by cord and bead. One for fan, the other is a chain purse. Fan Case: 18 cm, Purse: 5.5 x 4.5 cm." Qing Dynasty 1644-1911.
