This kris has a long, ivory hilt carved with incised lines and circles. It is marked on white-out "ESK113." The grip is wrapped with string with braided bands at the top, middle and bottom. Between the ivory and the string is a metal ring decorated with patterns of triangles and dots. At the bottom of the string is another metal ring with incised lines. The blade is straight with a decorative pattern of lines and half-circles, possibly this is representative of a dragon. The blade has a shallow groove running down the center. On one side of the top of the blade are "janggut," saw-like projections with holes above. On the other side is a smaller, similar projection. The blade is rusting badly. The sheath is straight (most are "T" shaped), made of two pieces of brown wood. The sheath is marked at the top "ESK 1A" on white-out. It is 58 cm long and 6 cm wide. It is bound near the center 14 cm with bamboo or rattan with braided rattan bands at the top and bottom. Another ring of braided rattan is 2.5 cm from the tip of the sheath. Near the top of the sheath, strips of tan and dark blue cloth are wound around the sheath and knotted.
