Title

Abdominal Band

Description

Band of bearded leather, several strands. Six vertical brown braids running down through the 37 small black braided strands. Some of the braided strands have broken off or come un-braided. It appears as though the black and brown leather is taken and braided around small, thin, round strips of bark, wood, or some other firm yet bendable material. Igorot is any of several related peoples inhabiting the mountains of Northwest Luzon, Philippines, or a people inhabiting the Mountain Province South of Kalinga. Donor File states: "Igorote abdominal Band Breach clout attachment." Old object tag found with item states: "Igirote abdominal band Breech Clout attachment. Collection of S.B. Shiley R.D. 8 Yakima."
