Title

Bolo Knife

Description

Bolo knife with a curved blade with a flat top. The blade is sharpened only on one edge. The blade is inserted into a groove in the handle. The handle is made of dark wood and the upper porting is decorated with bamboo strips, braided at the top and bottom of stripping. Handle measures about 17.4 cm in length and 4.1 cm in width. The blade is fairly dull and shows signs of rusting. Artifact notes state: "Bolo is a native name in the Philippines: a long, rather heavy Philippine single-edged knife. Resembles a machete."
