Title

Adze Blade

Description

Gray basalt adze blade made from a triangular piece of stone. Many large flakes removed from all sides on both sides of the stone. Tiny flakes removed from the edges indicate use wear. Sides form nearly right angles with each other. Artifact notes state: "An adze is a cutting tool that has a thin arched blade sharpened on the concave side and set at right angles to the handle. Used primarily for rough-shaping wood."
